A Study on Recognition and Concern in the Disease which Influenced on the Health of Residents in Rural Korea

Abstract

Today, a matter of concern about one´s own health is very increasing in rural people as well as urban people, because of the social factors which brought a sudden change of the pattern of their lives through urban and rural area according to economic development and urbanization by technical reform and mass media,
In investigation on recognition and concern in the disease which influenced on : the health ~of residents over 30 years old in the investigated area, the remarkable thing is that those who are 85.7% of all the 309 people investigated, are afraid of cancer and also they are .afried of adult disease, hypertension and heart disease in order.
The those who are 80.8% of all the ´investigated have experienced check of their blood pressure with concern of hypertension in the past.
The those who are 76.8% of all the investigated are afraid of death of cancer as one of detestable diseases but they hesitate to be admitted to hospital because of their thought that cancer means to death itself.
Smoker and driken were occupied 42.7% and 45.3% respectively in the total investigated but they did not take thought for possibility at all that smoking and drinking will be cause .of cancer and chronic gastritis.
From now I hope to perform enlightment for adult disease which have high recognition for disease on health through health activities.
The recognition research for disease to gave influence on health represented such as: the investigated who has been taken vermicide for intestinal parasite in the past was 54. 0o with relatively low rate and the investigated who has been taken chest X-ray for pulmonary tuberculosis was relatively low rate with 55.9%. ,
On a question of "transmission route of typhoid fever", the most of answer is "by fly" with rate of 35.9% and next "by water".
The those who are 84.4% of all the investigated know that typhoid fever is an infectious disease.
The those who washes their hands before meals occupied 84.4% in all the investigated and this good habits in personnel hygine was much developed in recent years.
